Hall of Fame
Our students compete at the highest level — from World Championships to elite university tournaments. Every achievement listed here is real, documented in public tournament records, and earned by students who trust us with their growth as thinkers and debaters.
A note on privacy
Our students are minors, and we don't publish their names or photos on this site. Every achievement below is real — it just belongs to a student, not a name. These records can be traced through public tournament tabs. As a matter of ethics, we've chosen not to use our students' individual achievements for advertising purposes.
Major competitions — school debaters
World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC)
UFD alumni have gone on to win this, the top title in school debating worldwide.
National teams
Our students have made it onto the national teams of India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Historically, UFD students make up about 40% of the Indian National Team.
International Competition for Young Debaters (ICYD), Oxford
We hold the most consistent track record at this annual Oxford-hosted competition. In 2024, our students took both the Best and 2nd Best Open Speaker titles. They've broken to the open category every year from 2024 through 2026.
AWSDC 2025 (Bangkok)
Our team reached the semifinals, debating multiple national teams along the way.
Hart House Debate Open & Western's British Parliamentary
Two of North America's most reputed school debate tournaments. Our teams have won outright and been named Best Speaker in the open category at both.
While still in school — competing at university tournaments
Uhuru Worlds 2024
Won the title outright in a field of 500+ teams.
Western's IV & Astana Open
Broke to the open category at both, two of the top university tournaments globally.
Columbia IV
Won the ESL category.
IIT Bombay
Finalists at India's most reputed British Parliamentary tournament for university debaters, while also claiming top speaker spots.
Doxbridge Worlds
Reached the semifinals, one of the largest open tournaments in the world for debaters of any age, let alone school students.
Consistent results across both university and school circuits, year after year.
Overall
- ✓
150+ international achievements, on average, every year.
- ✓
Almost all of our regular students carry key achievements from international tournaments organized by institutions like Oxford, Stanford, UPenn, and Columbia — this isn't limited to a handful of standout names.
Why we do it this way
We're proud of every one of these results, and we want you to know they're real and specific — not vague marketing numbers. But our students are children first and debaters second, and that means their names and faces aren't ours to put on a website, regardless of how impressive their achievements are.
If you're a parent evaluating UFD, we understand that anonymized achievements ask you to take some of this on trust. Every result on this page is a matter of public record — tournament tabs are published openly by the organizers, and these results can be traced there. We simply don't attach our students' names to them here, or use their individual achievements as advertising material. We think that's the right trade-off, even if it asks a little more of you as a reader.
